Hungarian Adoption Series #4: Good News!

After years of talking about adoption, this past Easter we decided to follow God's call for our family to start the adoption process. You can read more about that here.

I'll admit, when we first started, I really wasn't sure what emotions I would have during the process. After lots of paper work and soul searching discussions...the last several months have been a time of waiting. Waiting for certain approvals from our government.

Waiting can be hard.

It's easy to feel productive and like things are moving forward when you are busy, but when it's your turn to wait...it certainly is easy to feel like nothing is happening. Of course, that is the farthest thing from the truth.

God uses the time of waiting to mold us.

To draw us closer to Him.

To grow us.

To prepare us.

And that reality isn't something that is just true for parents in the midst of the adoption process. It's true for all aspects of life for every single person. In all honesty, we probably will never fully understand the full extent of all God does in the times of waiting in our lives. But rest assured: He is moving in the midst of it, and that time of waiting is anything but wasted.

It's yet another proof of the truth that we find in Ecclesiastes 3:11...

He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.

Our Good News

The last several months we have been waiting to get immigration approvals and this past week we were able to get those! This was our final step we needed before we could send all of our dossier paperwork to Hungary.

Together we checked all of our documents on the checklist, slid our papers into an envelope, and prayed over whoever would receive our documents and the child(ren) we might be given.

It was a surreal moment.

In the upcoming weeks, our paperwork will make it's way to Hungary and we will be waiting for what child(ren) they might refer to us.

This was a big step in the process and we are beyond thrilled!

As we wait for the next steps will you join us in praying?

God wastes no time of waiting.

“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”
