We started this process on Easter of 2021 - joyously and nervously choosing to be willing and active participants in this redemptive process. We've waited and we've dreamed. We've talked with each other and family and friends. We've laid awake at night wondering what God was doing and praying for a child we don't yet know but somehow immensely love.
It's hard to put into words all the feelings of this journey so far.
It's beautiful.
And it's even more beautiful experiencing it and knowing that my parents walked this path before me. That these are things that they felt about me. It's as if my whole life I was hearing these beloved stories in black and white and didn't know it.
But now I see them in full color...really actually truly understanding them for the first time.
It's with that in mind, that I am so excited to give this update.
We are thrilled to announce that we have been matched with a child and we are moving forward in the adoption!
As of yesterday, we started the process of the final set of paperwork approvals from both sets of governments to be officially matched and be able to leave for Hungary to bring our child home! It is expected that we would get this completed within a few short months.
We eagerly await the day we can share more details, but for privacy concerns we need to keep these off social media.
For now, just pray for our family of 3 as we prepare to become a family of 4...and pray for this immensely loved child: our special Christmas gift.
